Aggression – live at the Stardust Ballroom May 1984

There has always been a very close link between LA punk rock (early hardcore) and skateboarding. While the early issues of Thrasher championed ‘skaterock” and bands like the faction and JFA played punk rock and skated no other band defined Skate rock to me like Southern California’s “Aggression”

ANOTHER STATE OF MIND Old School Punk Documentary

Another State of Mind is a documentary film made in the summer of 1982 chronicling the adventure (and misadventure) of two punk bands — Social Distortion and Youth Brigade — as they embark on their first international tour. Along the way they meet up with another progressive punk band, Minor Threat, whom they hang out with at the Dischord house for about a week near the end of their ill-fated tour.

Rare Black Flag Tracks – unreleased

Back in the mid 90s I used to talk on the phone to Chuck D from Black Flag/ SST records once a month – I told him that I had a live recording that featured “Yes I know” and ‘What can you believe?” two previously unreleased great songs and that he needed to make sure they come out – about 6 weeks later I was in Selectadisc records and there they were on cd! I didn’t have the money at the time to buy it – import cd and all that – so I came back the next day and boom it was gone! turns out later it was a bootleg but here is the song “yes I know” from that cd
